Andaaz Nehru Jacket
This fabric is woven completely by hand, and no electronic machines were harmed in the process :)Weaving is the interlacing of threads perpendicular to each other. The vertical thread is called the warp or tana and the horizontal thread is called the weft or bana. Plain weaves start with 2 sets of thread, and complicated weaves can have as many as 400 sets of threads!
Ajrakh is a technique of hand-block printing native to Gujarat and Sindh. Natural dyes are used to print one side of the garment. But the mark of a genuine Ajrakh is that the print is visible on the other side as well. Check it out :)
