This cotton fabric was printed by hand using a wooden block.
Dabu is a mud rest block printing technique from Rajasthan. Dabu print uses paste from mud, resin lime and wheat chaff. The paste is printed onto plain fabric using wooden blocks. The mud essentially resists the dye from entering the fabric, leaving those parts plain while the unresisted parts get dyed.
Chanderi fabric is handwoven with silk and cotton yarns often interlaced with zari (golden metallic thread) motifs. Light and luxurious, Chanderi garments are a popular choice for formal and festive occasions.
